Are you familiar with the five love languages? These are ways you can express and receive love. Don’t worry If you aren’t familiar because we are going to break them down. The five love languages are: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch.

Below are some examples of ways you can show your dog love and affection:

  1. Words of Affirmation: Build your pets confidence by speaking words of affirmation. Display positive reinforcement using a playful tone that makes your pup happy.
  2. Quality Time: Dedicate some time to your pet everyday. This time should limit interruptions and focus on bonding.
  3. Receiving Gifts: Shower your pet with a new toy like a chew toy, puzzle feeder, or new blanket.
  4. Acts of Service: Do something nice for your pet that shows you are thinking about their comfort. Make a homemade snack or brush their coat. 
  5. Physical Touch: Does your pet love a good belly rub or a scratch behind the ear? Maybe you could treat your pet to a soothing massage.
