Wander & Wine: Fairytales in a Glass - Briar Rose Winery

Some places don’t just pour you a glass of wine—they pour you into another world. Briar Rose Winery is one of those places. Tucked into the hills of Temecula, Briar Rose feels more like a whispered secret than a destination. There’s no giant tasting room with loud crowds, no rushed flights lined up on a bar. Instead, you’ll find a quiet cottage hidden behind wooden gates, where the world moves slower and softer, and the wine feels like part of the landscape.

You can smell the history here before you even step through the arched doorways. Built in the 1970s by Beldon Fields, a former Disney craftsman who helped shape Fantasyland, the property was designed as a near replica of Snow White’s cottage for his wife who absolutely loved Snow White. Somehow, even decades later, it doesn’t feel kitschy or staged—it feels timeless, like it’s always been here, waiting for you.

The whitewashed stone walls. The heavy wooden doors. The thatched roof sloping low over the vines. Everything about Briar Rose is a little wild, a little worn, and completely enchanting.

The Wines That Tell Stories

The wine here matches the magic of the setting—moody, layered, meant to be lingered over.

Come Quietly

Briar Rose is not a place you stumble into—it’s a place you seek out. Tastings are by reservation only, which feels right somehow. It’s quiet here. Personal. You’re not rushed through a checklist of wines...you’re invited to experience them.

What to wear:

Cozy, Storybook, Tucked Away

Briar Rose isn’t flashy. It doesn’t want to be. It’s the kind of place where you walk slower without realizing it. Where the wine tastes like the landscape—dusty, rich, alive. Where even the air feels a little softer, like it’s wrapped in a memory you haven’t made yet.

Look closer, and you’ll find pieces of real magic woven into the cottage itself—hidden gems salvaged from the original Disney rides. Whispers of the Haunted Mansion live in the stonework. The roof tiles and the fountain hold pieces of Fantasyland’s earliest dreams. It’s subtle, almost secret, and somehow that makes it feel even more sacred.

If you’re lucky, you’ll catch it on a cloudy day, when the hills are wrapped in mist and everything feels even more unreal. If not—don’t worry. Briar Rose was built for dreamers, and dreamers always find the magic.
