Packing up your beauty and skincare essentials for a PCS move can be tricky, but with the right strategy, you can keep everything safe and organized. Here’s how I make sure my makeup and skincare arrive at my next duty station in one piece!
1. Start with a Cushion
Before anything goes in the box, I lay down a blanket as padding. I keep half of it out so I can fold it over at the end for extra protection.
2. Keep Palettes Flat
To prevent cracking, I stack my makeup palettes inside a small box and lay them flat. This keeps them from shifting around and breaking in transit.
3. Secure Skincare Bottles
I always double-check that my skincare bottles are tightly closed, then I tape the tops for extra security. This helps prevent leaks and spills inside my containers.
4. Use Makeup Bags for Loose Items
Any loose makeup products go into my makeup bags, keeping everything in one place and easy to unpack later. If you don’t have enough makeup bags, rolling items in packing paper and taping them works just as well!
5. Pack & Seal the Box
Once everything is neatly organized, I place it all in the box, fold the remaining half of the blanket over the top, and seal it up.
