

We are so excited to have fellow milspouse, Ivy Wilde, on the blog this month! Ivy began writing while dealing with postpartum depression and her debut novel, Beguiled, is releasing this month! How long have you been a military spouse?
- I’ve been a military spouse for 8 years.
What is your favorite part about being in a military family?
- Getting to see new places and meet new people.
What would you say is your biggest challenge being in a military family?
- Having to start over every three or so years is incredibly difficult. Especially with children.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with our current military families?
- Don’t let the pain of leaving a community stop you from making a new one whenever you arrive somewhere else.
How or why did you decide to become an author?
- I’ve been an avid reader since I was eight. I started writing stories at the age of ten. I started my debut novel 10 years ago and it is finally being published in April.
What book has been your favorite that you have written so far?
- Beguiled has definitely been my heart project. I have been working on this novel for ten years. I started it in order to pull myself out of postpartum depression.
Do you have more books planned for the future?
- I have three books coming out this year. Beguiled, Witching Hour, and an untitled project.
What author inspires you?
- Two of my biggest inspirations are Holly Black and Rebecca Yarros.
What’s a random fact about you we should know?
- I am working on my second Master’s degree.
